Boys, Boys, Boys.....
Can't we all, just get along ???
Don't ever think that you know it all,
because one day someone will prove to you that you don't.
It is ok to agree to disagree, but do it in PMs not on the forums.
I work in a very highly vulnerable position, where 90% of my job is educating the consumers about the products we make.
For the last 8 years I have been answering the question...
"Can you tell me what the difference is between A and B, and how that is different than C?"
And, "Which of these products is the BEST?"
I've NEVER once told them, "Why don't you just READ the boxes and found out for yourself ?"
or, "The product you need is over in one of those aisles, look for it yourself."
Just because it is my job to educate and assist the consumer, doesn't mean that when I'm off duty, I should treat people any differently.
I have been flown many miles, to spend many days, at many Trade Shows, to answer the same questions, often hundreds of times a day.
Many of those times a person would come to me and ask a question. As this person stood there and I began to answer his question, another person would get in line behind him. As I answered the person's question, the second person, with the exact same question, mind you, feels it is more important to spend his time being distracted, from what is going on right in front of him, than to pay attention to what is being told to the person in front of him.
If he was just a little interested in what was being spoken to the person in front of him, he would of had his questions answered and not had to ask me the exact same question, that I just answered, for the person before him.
If you have been here long enough, that reading the same questions over and over again disturbs you, you have forgotten where YOU started from.
We all were once that same person who came to a web site, BRAND NEW, and did not know how to navigate the site, and simply wrote a question, expecting someone to respond with an idea or two, that *might* help us determine what we were doing wrong, or where we need to look for things.
With the same energy you spend in ANGER, you could write a few posts to direct someone where they need to go, or maybe even write an INTRODUCTION to the site, that maps out how the site is organized and where things can be located.
This may HELP to reduce the number of questions, or at least place the questions in the CORRECT forums.
If this is the aide that you SEEK, then that aide only comes from YOU making the FIRST STEP.
If it upsets you so much that NEW MEMBERS cannot navigate this forum, DO SOMETHING TO HELP THE NEW MEMBERS, just as YOU wished you had when you first came to this site, and stop whining to the rest of us, about a problem that only exists in YOUR EYES.
