i havent signed anything rick but it seems that the whole deal with spring zing is road course or no ones coming... 100 probably is too optimistic especially with the negative reaction i've been getting from MI people who are too chickenfeces to drive 10-12 measly hours so i donno i gotta work on it i guess...

Matt, roughly guessing we had about 40 people that went to the road course and ran last year at $50 a head. This was beyond what the cost of registration was so I think if you're trying to package it in the registration that might be a little optimistic. I'd say just get a separate paypal account going and those who want to road course can stick $50 in it and see where we are in 30 days, if you think you've got enough to justify it show it to MAM and see if they will take it for opening the track for an afternoon or something. Just my .02

I'm a brand new Contour SV owner in MI and as of know I'm planning on making the trip. So all of us Michiganders aren't bad.

Personally, I think the registration fee should be kept smaller by making expensive activities such as the road course a la carte. I don't know how much of the fee was going to be road course and how much was everything else, but I would rather see a $20 to $25 basic banquet fee and then $40 to $50 for the race event billed separately.
Would it be possible to get the road course as part of an evening open track or a later in the day event? Having people need to pony up for an additional night's hotel stay, and for many to take an additional day of vacation could be stretching the money/time budgets of people on the fence who would still like to race.
Of course, for me, it depends on how Ross is feeling by then (or if it seems too beautiful, so I have to take Rex, I'd rather not race him)...
