I am looking for a 10" or 12" sub...sounds easy enough, but it needs to be freeair or a Small box <1.0 cu. It will be going in an IS300.
I do not have an aftermarket deck, so I will get my signal from the rear speakers...leaving me little to no adjustment from the drivers seat.
The amp will most likely be a Phoenix Gold. (Or another amp that will run a remote gain control to the drivers seat)
I had the Shiva in the SVT, but the current box leaves me with about 6" of trunk space.
Give your suggestions.

Try to sen a PM to APT CSVT, he drives an IS300 and had a free air setup in his SVT, I'm not sure what he's done in the Lexus, but his SVT setup was pretty nice.

I wouldn't go any smaller than 1.25 cu ft.
The Dayton IB12 is essentially a "shiva" designed for free air use. And to be honest, you could just use the Shiva free air, too.

Boston Acoustics Pro, Kiker solobaric, they need very small enclosures.

How did I miss this thread? I would use the Shiva, and make a new box if you are able. It would cost less than a new driver. For a 12" 1.25cu foot is about as small as you are going to get. There are some good 10" drivers that work in about 0.5cu ft, but IMO it is not worth it. I have a 12" that will go in my IS300 some day. I do not yet know how I will do it, though. I was thinking either make a custom enclosure in one of the far back corners, as I have seen a few contour people do, specifically Trapps. Or, I thought about a false wall behind the rear seat. Since the back seat does not fold down anyway and the hump on the floor, I thought it would take up the least amount of useable space, at least the space that I generally use. Colin has just recently done this with his SVT using the same Lambda PB12 LE driver I have, although I will make my box a little smaller than his 2.0 cu ft.

The pros are pretty nice subs, the old round solobarics were as well. But the box reqs on the new L7s is HUGE. But they do make good free air subs, surprisingly.
