Yes this will work. I know someone in chicago that did his in blue. Its been like this for a good year and theres no problems. Just make sure you use the Hightemp paint.

I know that powdercoating actually helps with temp-reflectin, etc.. Wouldn't paint seem to theorhetically do the oppostite, creating a heat-soaked element?

Please... Jim, man, people paint engine blocks and heads.. Painting an intake manifold is a nice 20$ afternoon job...
Plus you get to clean your LIM and change plugs while waiting for the paint to dry.
I just did this like two weeks ago and it works fine... I changed my plugs and wires and all that good shizzle... little advice though my friend.... DO NOT MESS WITH THE INJECTORS my car runs like azz right now cause I have some problems with them since i played around with them.
