Odds are it was probably me (at least the silver SVT on Hylan in Staten Island). My lunch hour thursday was 1:30, and I'm usually going somewhere on Hylan for lunch. As for South Amboy, wasn't me.
As an aside, I spotted a Silver SVT ('99 or '00 - stock with the factory spoiler) near Warrenville Rd in Warren last Saturday (right in front of the Exxon) - anyone here?
