I just got around to installing my DMD. I was looking at it. Is the ring supposed to move in and out like this? When you turn it, the dampener ring moves in and out from the pulley about an eighth of an inch. Is this normal?

Mine doesn't do that.

That extra ring or lip is supposed to move, but after around 3500 rpms...are you saying it does that at idle???

I haven't put it in yet. When you hold it in your hands, as you turn it, the dampener ring moves in and out from the pulley about an eighth of an inch. It looks like the ring is bent in towards the pulley. The rubber bulges slightly at that spot. I just wanted to know if this is normal before I go through the bother of installing it.

Where did you get it from? I'd shoot them an email or give them a call and ask. Getting a DMD is one of my summer projects, so I'm interested in what you find out.
