You pull the battery lead or the fuses to it - NOT THE COMPUTER !

This will erase trouble codes and learned operation data.

On my car, it's fuses 9 and 11.  See the illustration below.  Definitely check your owner 's manual.

Pulling fuse 11, engine compartment fuse box, for a couple of minutes with ignition off resets PCM memory. Getting box cover off and on can be tricky so some prefer simply to disconnect battery negative cable, which may require clock and radio to be reset.

After pulling either the fuses or battery cable, do this:There is actually a set procedure.

"I don't remember it 100% off hand (It's in the Factory Service Manuals)

Basics are:

1. Start car
2. Let it idle to warm up (~5 minutes)
3. Take it for a leisurely drive at various rpms accelerating & decerating (3-5 minutes)
4. Get on the car hard at various rpms accelerating & decerating (3-5 minutes)
5. Stop the car & let it idle
6. Turn on the A/C (2 minutes or until idle settles down)
7. Repeat step 3 (A/C is cut off at WOT so step 4 in unnecessary)
8. Stop car and let idle a minute or so
9. Shut off

The PCM will continue to learn a little more over the next several driving cycles as well."

Works like a charm!
