Back in my firefighting days, one of my good friends whos a fireman too (and is now a full time firefighter in a nearby city) were setting up to burn some brush out in the field behind his house. The ground was still covered in snow, we had borrowed a brush truck from the station and set up on a small pond on the property. The brush pile was the size of a small house! He had "pre-lubed" the pile with some mystery juice and was getting ready to light the blaze. He had lit a branch on fire and was going to toss the branch down into a hole at the front bottom side of the pile when I heard this loud WWWHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPPPPP and this huge flash!
My buddy came running at me all freaked out thinking his head was on fire but it wasn't. The funny thing was when the pile flashed he squinted his eyes and the folds in and around his eyes and cheeks got toasted slightly, but it wasn't too noticible that day. A few days later I saw him at a training night and he looked like a tiger because the stripes had darkened. So after I had explained what happened(with him protesting) everyone called him tiger...man was t funny. Poor Bastid, will never live that down!
