M5s usually dyno between about 325-340rwhp.That puts them right at about 400 crank.

As for the race, from a roll it might not be that bad. If it were me, I would want to be pushing 300fwhp at least. Gets the power to weigh ratio close.

IIRC worldtour hung with a countach on the hgwy, i don't think he passed him but i know he raced one and was right with him and he has 293hp and 240tq i can't remember exactly, Now the T/C will have more power and TQ right?
So from a roll you would get respect at least

Actually, I was under the impression that the old specs on my 83 BMW were measured at the wheels. Maybe they stopped? My old BMW was rated at around 125-130, but it would kill any car rated in that range. When I talked to a tech at BMW and asked why it was rated so low he said it was rated at the wheels and showed me some literature that confirmed it. I can't remember who wrote the literature since it has been a while, but I will say it stuck in my mind. I'm not saying its true, but that was what I learned.

It is at the wheels. think about it:
a 95 325i is 3400 lbs and has iirc 180hp. Yet they do 0-60in 6.7 seconds? Not if it is at the flywheel. My second pic worked earlier when I posted it. go to:
http://mikemarsh.20megsfree.com
and check out my links page. 394hp stock dynoed at the wheel hub for the m5.

Wow the m5 puts down a lot of Hp & Tq @ the wheels. I guess the svt will lose.

All you have to do is go to the M5 board. You will see multiple people have dynoed 328-340ish. They are 394-400 at the crank. One guy has an s/c. He's putting almost 500rwhp down. And like 522rwtq. Just insane.

Yeah but he was sliding that baby for almost 20 seconds non-stop. That part of the video alone was worth it.
