Hey guys (and gals)! I shot the moose last month! Cost me 18 cents. Try the TH Fix. It can be found on the mods page. Really simple to do and if it doesn't help you, you'll be out a whole 18 cents for the copper pipe cap. Give it a try! Now that I think about it, I actually miss the guy! frown :rolleyes: :p

I own a 1999SE 5-spd. After reading all the posts, I'm pretty sure I have the moose problem too. I still have a few more questions:

What is an IAC valve?

Can I get one at any autoparts store?

Where is the valve located, and can I replace it myself?

IAC is the Idle Air Control valve. It is mounted on the throttle body. Last I knew it was not available from auto parts stores. Before buying a new one, try cleaning it and the throttle body.

The throttle body is on the upper left side of the engine. It is where the throttle cable attaches. For a picture, go to Ray McNary's write up on the throttle hang fix in the FAQ section.
