Hi, I am new to here, I have a 97 contour sport V6, it needs to pass smog. The mileage is 110,000.
But i have a big problem that most of you contour owners have. The CEL on !!!!
I already spend 700 bucks to change all 4 O2 sensor, but the CEL still on. Because i went to AutoZone last year and tehy told me the O2S is bad.
Want to know where to do another dianogstic in the Northern Cal, besides teh dealer.
Pls help !

Did you reset the PCM after you did the work. If you dodn't know how to reset it you disconnect the battery for about 10-15 minuts then connect it back.
If you have reset it then I dunno. Sorry. Maybe someone else can awnser you.

ouch and double ouch...my advice would be to go have your codes checked again and then come back here and let us know what codes were pulled...this site is great at helping with codes

autozone is good for getting them read for free but it doesn't necessarily mean that the person doing it is reading it correctly or can advise on a proper fix

the codes are not necessarily exact, but more of an indicator as to where to look to remedy the problem...may be something else going on with the car that doesn't absolutely have to be the o2's

u can also try to clear them as stated in the previous post

if u remembr what codes were pulled post them here
