Ok, I am going to go with true duals. I want to know if my design would be good or if I should try to copy some elses.

Here's what I was thinking:

Cut the stock y pipe and make two pipes out of it. Then bolt this high flow cat: Dual IN/Dual OUT Cat
Then finish the job with dual mandrel bent piping to the mufflers in basicly the same position as the stock ones.

One question though; will I want resonators?
Will replacing the stock mufflers be a good idea and what mufflers should I replace them with?

Also I was going to get the mandrel bends from jcwhitney. Anyone found a better place?

I don't know if my variations will translate - I have done 2in/2out mufflers, but not a cat. I have been unhappy with a 2in/2out arrangement. Largely for noise, but I believe low end and mid range performance has suffered as well. No proof though. I suspect there would be a better way, but you won't know if you don't try.

If you must preserve a cat, perhaps try 2 separate smaller ones and do not cross lines.

This is a new one for the CEG. Anyone else got any thoughts?

Mark

Very much so!

Mingling the exhaust gasses basically negates having separate pipes! Maybe even to the point of being worse then a tune Y-pipe setup???

Shared mufflers and/or cats are garbage!

Use only straight through mufflers (no baffles or twin pipe cores) with a perforated core (no louvered core!)

I read the posts for the groupbuy and honestly I can't see paying $700 for duals.

I found the piping from jcwhitney for under $100 (for the mandrel bends that are needed for duals).

So basiclly that dual in/ dual out cat sucks? Are there better brands of cats? Do I just need to make sure its super flow cats?

I found high flow cats on ebay for $50. Are these ok?
