Dave's Transmission will get it right as well. They are actually a transmission-specialty shop that my Quaife install was farmed out to by my engine guy. My job was done in August 2001; they may or may not actually remember it. I doubt they get much Contour performance work there, so it might stick out in their minds.
My Quaife had to be machined - your results may vary, depending on which carrier bearings were used from the factory. No way to know for sure until it's out. I only mention it in case they are under the (mistaken) impression that this is necessary for ALL installs. The good news is that the shop owner's father runs a machine shop.
Personally, if I ever have to have any trans work done (on the 3L or on the wife's ATX beater) I am going right back to them. I was thoroughly impressed with how they handled a difficult job having never installed a Quaife in a Contour before.
