The only way I know how is when I had the console out...It just kinda is clipped in there. But on yours being the new console, I don't have a clue...

I happened to have just worked on that the other day. My problem was that it got pushed INDSIDE when I was plugging in. You have to take off he screws on the left side of console and the screw on the right, closest to the firewall. Then, pull the console far enough to stick your left hand inside of the console housing. Reach all of the way to the lighter and there are two wires that are attached to the lighter. Gently pull the wires out and then hold the lighter housing and start unscrewing while at the same time, use your right hand to hold the ring in front while your are unscrewing. It is actually two pieces. Do you plan on putting the lighter back? Good Luck

My question is, is there a fuse inside the adapter itself? I blew mine...well it wasn't a cigg lighter. It was just a power out let and well my girlfriend put a kragens cigg lighter in there and it blew it.
Any thoughts on the fuses or might i need a new one.

They are usually a buss fuse and it's in the adapter. I was a dumba$$ the other day when I blew mine. I bought a 3 plug multi adapter a few weeks ago, (radar detector/phone charger). Then I bought a 100 watt power inverter and it said, clearly...do not plug inverter into multi plug cig outlet, what did I do? Not only did I blow the multiplug fuse, I als blew the 15amp fuse on the fuse box

Apaarently our cig lighters are very tight. My inverter barely fits, it's very tight. You might have to put the pliers to the PS plug to fit,
