My daughter has a '97 Mystique with a 2.0 Zetec engine and auto. The car just turned 50,000 miles and runs great. The problem we are having is the car idles too low (500 rpm) when in drive and the air conditioning is on. The Haynes Repair Manual refers to an "Idle Increase Solenoid Valve". Does anyone know if the 2.0 Zetec has this valve or what increases the rpms when the air conditioning is on. I know the engine rpms use to increase when turning the air conditioning on when the car was new. Thanks.
