Number of posts means jack. Point being, there are plenty of good quality amps these days without resorting to Boss/Profile/Lanzar junk- and it is junk. The JBLs are among the best bang for your buck around. Never debated that issue.

But if someone invests decent coin in a set of w7s, why would you short sheet yourself with a junk amp? Some of the better sysetms I've heard made good use of quality lower rated amps and subs. Looking back at the RF Punch 150s and Alpine 3554 we used back in the late '80s, these were all quality amps with great head room. Heck my first set of Orion XTRs only had a 'cheap' MTX-RT2100 pushing them at first and they slammed.

I've seen enough Lanzar amps bench tested that push less than 50% of the claimed power with 3% distortion as well. That's why you can buy that kind of junk at flea markets and on ebay so cheap- just buy two or three so when they smoke you'll have a spare handy.

Right now thezeb.com has an Orion XTR900.2 w/two RFHX2 12" subs for $599. You could easily sell off the subs and end up spending around $300 for one of the best amps every made. They've even got refurbed HiFonics XI-Zues amps for $349, that's over half off the cheapest I've ever seen this amp sell for. Not to mention the list of AudioBahn stuff on sale for under $300. Any of these amps flat clown that Lanzar stuff at any price.

Just too many deals on the net these days to even consider buying cheap amps, especially when you've got W7s to push.
