Just bought 2 JL 10w7's to put in my 98 CSVT. Im building a custom enclosure, but with one problem. I just spent all my money on the subs, so what I am looking for is a good quality amp that can put about 600-700 watts apiece to each of the subs. I was looking at the Boss Chaos REV-2000D. But decided against it after reading some forums. Can anyone suggest a good amp that cost between 300-400 dollars that can power both, or maybe 150-250 for one that I can buy two of. Thank You for your input. -Matt

i agree with the 1200.1, if you ask me, powering subs like that with a boss amp would really be selling them short

I agree with the BP1200.1. If you can afford two of them, then even better! From what I hear those subs can take a lot of power and they keep askin for more.

Actually there are some decent Boss amps, you just have to know that the actual power will be less than advertised. I don't remember the model number of the Boss, but there is one that has the same internals as the Lanzar Vibe 1200d. But, I still recommend the JBL1200.1, if you are going ported, you may want to consider the Revolution amp mentioned in the other thread. It will cost more but has a subsonic filter that could help protect your sub.

Sell off the 10s, get (1) 12W7 and (1) good class D or high current amp. You'll have all the sound you need coming from one properly powered and enclosed 12W7.
Boss, Vibe, Lanzar, Coustic, et al is proven junk. Not worth the scrap parts they are made out of.
Shop around, you can find excellent deals right now on good quality class D amps from MA Audio, AudioBahn, HiFonics, etc. that will do an excellent job moving that W7.
I've got (1) 10" MA Audio XL competition series sub [freakin thing weighs almost 26 lbs.] and a HiFonics XI-Zeus pushing it and while it might not be a db record holder, you can't hardly sit near the car with it cranked anyway. Have less than $500 invested in the amp and sub. What else do you need in a daily driver anyway???
Your JLs require a ton of amp power and you're better off with one less sub than trying to push them with junk amps.

BS. The Lanzar Vibe 1200D is actually a proven performer and was one of the best deals available for a nice class D amp. Vibe is a series of Lanzar. The optidrive, although aimed more towards mid-low budget systems now, used to be one of the best amps available. I wouldn't be surprised if the Boss and Lanzar amps share the same internals with Hifonics, MA Audio and Audiobahn.

The JLs are no less effecient than most in their class. You could run them with 300w RMS and have no issues and satisfactory output in the right enclosure.
