The lug nuts are torqued to 85. I've had the tires on and off many times, switching tires from the contour to the mystique, trying to isolate the problem. It still vibrates.

I don't know about the belts. I bought the car last year, with about 80K on it. I've not changed the belts, but I don't know the history. They look okay, but I've not checked for tension, other than pressing on the belts with my hand.

I just checked for clutch slippage. I can take off, from a stop, in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th, without any apparent clutch slippage. I obviously have to ease the clutch out in 3rd and 4th, otherwise the engine will die.

I'm considering the possibly of the vibration being clutch related, but I don't know how to check this out.
