My gf and I were on our way to going out to breakfast in her 95 escort when we stopped at a light at Ford and Merriman and all the sudden my gf yells OMG and then we suddenly get plowed in the back of by an old blazer. We fly into the middle of the intersection, and i look behind us and i see parts all laying behind us where the woman in the blazer had hit us. Typically speaking, your not supposed to move your car if your involved in an accident, until the police get there, but her car was still running so i told her to pull into the gas station on our left. Anyways, the light turns green and the woman that hit us proceeds to make a left while she was in the fast lane. I couldnt believe it! My gf called 911 and about a minute later a cop showed up and had already gotten word of the accident. Apparently, someone had followed the woman in the blazer and reported it to a cop. Turns out she got into another accident while the person was following her as well. Her escort was fine for the most part. Some bad scratches on the rear bumper and it became unbolted on the right fender, center light reflector was cracked, and my seatbelt was permanently locked. I had to recline my seat all the way back just to get out of the car lol. Good news is, the person following the woman did get the license plate number and the cop said they had already sent another unit to her place of residence, now that they knew the plate number. All said and done, my gf is a little shaken up from the accident but we are both fine.

The same thing happened to my GF. Some drunk driver in and suv made a left turn through an intersection when his light was red. Hit someone in the rear fender and ended up rolling the other car and then side swiped my GF BMW, when he got through the intersection. Unfortunately the A'hole got away..

I don't [censored] around. I keep a disposable camera in the glove box for situations like that. I got it wound up ready to shoot. A lot of times if you don't have absolute proof, you don't have [censored]. My dad got rear ended by a woman at 5 in the morning, he followed her home and called the police. The car ended up being uninsured and unregistered, the woman denied driving it and her mom(who the car was registered to) said her daughter was asleep at the time. The cops did nothing because my dad had no solid proof. Glad to hear you two are OK though. She'll get hers eventually!

In that situation i would not hesitate to engage in a little clandestine citizen justice Keep her from driving more without insurance....

If I followed the person home (that hit and ran me) and they denied that it was them...I might just have to pay them a visit late one night and slip a little sugar in the old gas tank. It would make me feel a little better...not to mention it would keep them off the road for a while. No license + no insurance = no business being on the road.
