well the vortec comes with a custom burned chip, so you wouldnt need to do a reburn, also the stock injectors are fine for the vortec. You may have to do some extra working depending on whether you have returnless style or not. Other people who have much greater knowledge on this subject will shed some light on this.

Also most people suggest you get a quaife and a new clutch, and from what I hear terry haines builds up transmissions very well so you might want to shoot him an email and see about that.

If you want the most out of your SC, a bigger air filter than the one that comes with the kit will help. Also the Vortech spec MSDS headers (Which will require an oil filter relacation kit I believe, but I'm not exactly sure on that one though). And finally a new y pipe with cat, and cat back exhaust system. The you'll be getting the most out of her!!

Have fun!!

Also a lot of ppl like to get the A pillar gauge pod (w/ air fuel ratio, boost gauge.... etc)

I just put in a trans from a 99 with 34k miles on it and I also did a 11.5 lb. flywheel but no limited slip.. I really dont snatch hard on it anyway. I really dont like hitting the clutch that hard.. oh yeah I also put a brand new clutch in. The flywheel was well worth the price. But I am pretty sure my car has a returnless style fuel setup.. I always thought I had to change injectors and all that crap. I really appreciate all of the replies I got! The info will definitely help!

If your car is a 98 it is probably a return system. In that case, everything you will need will come with the kit. If it is returnless, you will need bigger injectors and a custom tune. You will have to get the details on that, from others here that have done it.

If your not too hard on the transmission, it should hold up ok. Just watch out for wheels hop!

Your exhaust setup should be ok. What diameter is it? hopefully it is at least 2.5". If not, a new exhaust is not necessary, but it will help.

Good Luck!

Judgeing from your Username, I would say that you drive a 98. All 98 Contour SVT's (any 98 Contique with V6 for that matter) had the Return style fuel system. The stock 19# injectors will work fine.

Ohhh I have had it backwards this whole time!! I thought the 99's and up have the return style fuel system...well thank you 2 for clearing that for me. Yeah I heard that the Scharger kit works good with the 98.. I guess I lucked out on that.. the 98's had bad syncros in the trans's but now I have fixed that! Now onto a charger!
