How do you launch this thing? I've been driving it for a couple of months now, and never tried to run it against anything from a stop until now. All I got was wheelspin, nothing else. I even launched from 1.5k, and all I did was floor it once I got the clutch all the way out... I got pulled on by a Accura Vigor with a fart can off the line (on the track of course)! Granted, it was over once I get hooked up. But he easily put 3-4 cars on me at the launch because I couldn't get out of the massive wheelspin from just flooring it... What should I do (practice wise)?

Dont floor it

Thats basically what it boils down too if you have traction problems that bad. Just practice and find how much throttle you can feed in off the line then open it up once you get going.

Good Luck!

How driveable is that beast anyways?!?!? In a daily driver way. Also do you have a quaife?

It's my daily driver, I can't afford another car with insurance and all those stuff. I have a Quaife, etc... I'm running snow tires right now, but it didn't help even when I was running the Yokohama AVS Intermediate... And the sad thing is, I don't have too much of a top end. I think it's from the intake leak. So if I loose from the launch, I loose basically. Can't fix anything until it's warm out though.

Get some GOOD tires!

Also from a stop a quick slip from 2-3k while rolling into the pedal is your best option.

I read this on the Sho Shop Web Site

Quote:

So what can one expect from a 3.0L conversion? How about an additional 29 ft. lbs. of TQ and 32 HP. at the wheels, for a total of 186 ft. lbs. of TQ and 193 HP on a totally stock engine! On the one equipped with Extrude Honed Heads, Extrude Honed Manifold, BigBore Butterflies, Underdrive Pulleys and Sean Hyland Headers with custom CatBack, we made 229HP and 208 ft-lb. of TQ. This is 270HP and 230 ft-lb. of TQ at the flywheel. In our Super Ford Project Contour SVT it is 0-60 in 5.9 sec., and ¼ mile in 13.8 @ 103 mph.

I know in the past Sho Shop hasnā??t been the most reliable source of information, so what do you guys think of these claims?

I think that is extremely old news.

Well, it's tough when I can't win because of traction problem... Don't you think?
