I saw one of those on the Honda 2000...how exactly is that supposed to work? or whats the point of it?

In the S2000 (which I would guess is like any other Start button on the market) it works like this. You turn the key all the way forward, and the dash lights up and whatnot, but the engine won't start. Then you push the Start button and voila!
No real point to it, it's just cool!!
