Hello:

I couldn't find this in the archives, but surely it's come up before.

Is there a factory 12 volt point (preferably continuous, i.e. not switchable by the ignition key) available somewhere in the trunk area of my 1999 Mystique LS?

I would like to install an amplifier in the trunk, and will need around 10 amps of current capacity from the 12 volt connection.

Or is the only solution to run heavy gauge fused wires from the car battery all the way back to the trunk?

Thanks in advance,
Hal

Nope...have to run 'hot' from the front or its easier if you relocate the battery in the trunk, both need heavy gage hot feed...

You can run the wire under the car in split loom and it will only pass thru one metal surface, the trunk. It sure beats carpet lumps and trying to feed it through the fire wall.

you have to run a hot wire from the battery, to my knowlegde the only place to hook up to currne tin the trunt is if you have the power antenna, which is not enough current to push an amplifier. If you plan to hook up multiple amps, you can buy a distro block (35$) and have up to 4 hookups to 12V.
