Here is a picture of the solenoid (I hope this is the solenoid) once I disassembled it.
SOLONOID You can see the gears...and the motor sitting inside. Note: the connection is not complete unless the sliding mechanism is in. I tried to just connect the piece with the motor in it and push the trunk button...didn't work. Then I noticed that the sliding mechanism (with the teeth on the side) has to be in to connect the current...then it worked fine. I cleaned it up a bit and put it back together. Hope this helps. By the way..this is located to the left of the lock mechanism (if you're looking toward the front of the car). It's hidden under the steel and is attached by two screws. Enjoy.
