CB99 also had drag radials. If you compare their 60' times, CB had like a 2.0 or 2.1. Phat SVT on street tires and no traction pulled like a 2.6. Huge difference. You can probably see what would happen if the s/c'd SVT could pull the same 60'. Alas, Phat tried the drag radial thing and the results weren't good.

TRACTION!!!

For one - he runs at IMO the best track in the country.
He knows how to launch.
He used LSD & drag radials.

Plant a 2.0x 60' with a S/C car and see what it runs. Sam hit like 2.6's and ran around 14 flat @ 101 (at our local POS track)

2.0x on that = low 13's!!! It's all about traction here.

Does that solve your dilemma...

That makes SO MUCH more sense, thanks DemonSVT (I dunno your real name). . .I would've figured 13's easy, it's just a question of the setup. . .we need a widebody kit to squeeze some 245's underneath there (i know somebody has done it on CEG). . .that coupled with an LSD should be a Cobra '03 threatening combination.

I'd drop 6k to shave off 2 seconds on .25 mile. . .testosterone+hp doesn't equal good bank account balance.

If you guys were to check out my two runs on the video footage Demon took you can see smoke rollen down the side of the car first gear and then you see smoke barrel off again when hit second gear. My first run I ran a 2.8 sixty foot with a 14.7 @ 99 MPH. Then the second was against DemonSVT. I didn't expect to race that day. My third gear synchro was going out and grinding everytime. So I just slammed it into gear. Still with 17" wheels and my 2 -12" subwoofers in the trunk it was deffinitely not on a diet that day. So I think with smaller tires and better traction I could have squeezed another MPH.

you can definitely feel it, simon (fst4dr) gave me a ride in his car. now i'm having problems accepting that I own a zetec. It may be hard to effectively put all the power from a FI duratec to the ground, but once you do get it to the ground, it's amazing.

Has anyone ever tried fabricating or using a universal type radius arm? I'm not sure if that would help with our suspension setup, but they helped my friends '91 Civic a lot!

I wonder how much mph would phat svt gain if he had a better hook up of the line, lets say a 2.0 or 2.2 60 foot with stock rims?
