Brad you are right about a taller tire helping with traction but when you do this you also need a lower gear. Intalling a higher gear isn't going to have the same result as a taller tire and lower gearing. If you talk to anyone who is wise to the ways of drag racing you will find that going to a higher gear is not going to provide the solution you are looking for. If you also notice in my last post I said if I were building a dedicated drag car (which I am not) this is what I would do. That is why I suggest a shorter tire for most of our cars (low horsepower + heavy car = need more gear) if you want to run better 1/4 mile times.
