hey all,

never posted here before, since I dont race.

wondering what others w/a vortech have done in the 1/4 mile.

(I did a search and didn't see a post w/times).

I wanna try, but wondering what I should expect? I don't have a Quaife, although I know I need one.....

thanks,

Low 14's around a hundred or so is what I've seen out of them... Stupid traction issues.

Traction is a huge issue, many who run 14.1's have told of experiences beating fbodys on a roll. The numbers really do not indicate how fast a supercharged tour really is.

About the same... Need Quaife, axles, and SLICKS!!! Then, you get busted ring gears...

I've never seen your 60 before, thats amazing, does the extra power screw with starts that much? Just imagine if you could pull off a 2.2

I was pulling 9 psi very strong that day with excellent weather and low humidity. I would say the power was 280 FWHP if not more that day. With quaife and slicks you should pull good sixty foots and result in even better 1/4 times. My 1/8th mile was 9.2 @ 81 MPH.

I did later put Nitto drag radials on the car with my stock drivetrain and grenaded the stock dif, stripped half shafts, and grenaded the tranny. So Quaife is a deffinite safety if you don't want to fork over $3,000.

Intresting, Is that a problem that has happend over and over. I keep thinking about that turboed focus that runs slicks and has no problems. Does he have a hardned set of gears?

You're going to be looking at that amount if you replace it before it breaks anyway. So why not just have some fun and break some stuff before you shell out the same money for the aftermartet stuff?
