on a stock (E1) '99 Contour SVT ? I know this is probably a topic that is kicked all over the place. I'm on my last set of KDW's @215-50-16.

Maybe this should be titled "What is the BEST tire for my car?"

1. Dunlop SP Sport A2 @215-55-16.

2. Dunlop SP Sport 5000 @205-55-16.

3. Bridgestone Potenza S-03 @205-55-16.

4. Bridgestone Potenza S-03 @215-55-16.

5 Firehawk SZ50 EP's either 205-55 or 225-50

I like/want handling, low noise, traction dry or wet, and tread life. The Firehogg SZ 205-55 sound good to me... Snow is not here in W.Georgia or E. Alabama.

Let's see what you enthusiasts feel is best.

Sincerely, Tom

I personally like the trojan magnums the best...

Pirelli's are still the way to go..

Dude...I see that you're new...so I'll put you in the right direction. Go the "Wheels and Tires" section. Open it. At the bottom, you'll see that the default limits the days responses to 2. Change that to the past 6 months, then peruse the topics that seem to be like what you are asking. You'll be amazed at the amount of information.

Thanks mcgainer, I did that yesterday and I'm confused on whether a 215-55 or a 225-50 will rub. They say the Kumonos won't, they seem very inexpensive over at tirerack.

What do you put on your stock 16" wheels?

Perhaps a host/moderator should delete this title because it is off topic.

I ran Dunlop 8000s (205/55/16) and they stick like glue..but are noisy as hell!! The Pireli 6000s I'm running now are very sticky and quiet. I'm running Dunlop A2s right now for winter, and am under-whelmed with their stick...and side flexion (tho I'm running 205/60/15s). Others can comment on the Bridgestones. My advice...don't skimp on tires...

I'll second those Pirelli's! Not too sure on treadlife though, might be a bit low...
