I pushed on a display of the S-03 and that tire is ridgid. It's as hard flex as the KDW's.

The Firehawk reviews say more mileage and less noise...

I've got a set of A2's on our '96 Toyota Crapery V6. They are good. Low noise, good traction for that kind of automobile with 15" rims. The H rating is a plus for it.
They are certainly better than the Michlobes that originally came on it or the Yokohamas it put on after the Micks. We had Pirelli P300's on the car and they gave good service too.

Er...Thanks 7999 CEG'er.... I'm keeping the original SVT wheels, and my goal is to find out whether I should try 215-55 or 225-50 tires.

the 225 is definately a shady area....

the 215-55, I guess I'll just have to get out the old timey tape measure and do some analysis on the ground. Tire rack seems to have done the measurements on their products...I hope they are right.

I'd guess that a 6.5" wheel mounting will make the tire narrower and taller than a rim that measures 7.0".

Shucks, maybe I should go see the tire experts at Sears....

You do not want 215/55R16. You want 205/55R16. If you are unfamiliar with tire specs that not only changes the width of the tire but also the diameter.

Yeah but ....I know that term sounds stupid....the Diameter on the SP A2's 205 is about 24.8 inches. The diameter on the 215 A2's is just four tenths of an inch longer. That would probably be only 2 tenths of an inch higher around the fender area.

Thank you Ausgedient. I really appreciate and respect your reply.

Gad, I wish they made a decent 215-50-16 tire.

Now I just need to do some measuring on this 225-50-16 stuff.

I know for sure that 205-55's will work ! That seems to be the "best bet" at this moment. They may put a little more mileage on the odometer...Grrrrr...

225/50R16 is about the same diameter as 205/55R16.

I can show you the easy Algebra involved or you can take the easier applet route: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
