I would switch the MB Quart's to the fronts and stick stocks in the rears.

You could pick up a 12" Aluminum Cone Eclipse on Ebay for around $185 + shipping and a JBL BP600.1 for $175 + shipping. Build your own box, and for around $450 you could have a very nice sounding sub with a decent amp to push it. Many people would also suggest Lambda, although I can not testify to how they sound; it will take close to a month before they ship it out to you (thats what changed my mind).

I know what you meen about tight budget I aint got [censored] for money so I just shoped around and bought my local audio stores specials haha, took a risk and went with a new brand of amp(Concept 350watts for cheap) its a really nice am I have had no problems with it actually its got alot of great features in case I want to use it to run door speakers then I have a 12" rockford HE(sealed box), and I have 5.25" alpine components left over from my last car which are powered buy a 200 watt MTX amp built in cross over so I turned of the low freq so I got nice crisp sound with no distortion and I have a really nice amount of bass pounding through from the trunk and I think I didnt even spend over 750 dollars for all this.

i say this every time a thread like this comes up, but a great buy is the dayton titanic on www.partsexpress.com - sounds great, lots of power handing, and a nice price.

now officially a troll, i guess. used to have a black 96 SE, until it broke down one too many times. now I'm hunting for a motorycle.

i believe that the best value out there in automotive subwoofers is the elemental designs k series. for a cheep price, you get an efficient sub that will give you awesome sound quality while still retaining the ability to get very loud. on top of all that, they perforum very well in either sealed or ported enclosures. now that link gives a very basic (and overgeneralized) explaination on each type. if you are interested, i could direct you to some fine reading about ported enclosures.

hell, you could get two of them subs and a JBL bp1200.1, which is just inside of of your listed budget. that would prolly be a lot more bas than what you need

Some of the stuff on Elemental Design's website looks interesting. How do these compare to Lambda's or Stryke's new sub?
