I had a similar problem on the rear passenger side, except the window had been completely lowered and later it did not go up. The passenger door button nor the drivers' side button would work. I went to a auto glass shop and they took everything apart and found out the mechanism that keeps the window on the sliding track was partially of track and was jamming up so the motor was stuck in a the given position. I thought the motor had burned up but it was not. They refastened the window to the track and everything works fine. It cost me only $35. After looking at what they did, it would have been difficult for me to duplicate the work by myself so I was glad I took the vehicle to a local auto glass shop. I am sure the dealer would have taken me to the cleaners cause they do not let you see the repairs going on and you would be in the dark at the mercy of the service advisor.
