I tried rotating the tires before with no luck. As for the rims being bent, I think that would cause a constant vibration.
The crazy thing about mine is that it happens only intermittently. One drive last summer, it was so bad, I had to stop the car. Other times, nothing.
New tires did seem to lessen the frequency and severity, however.
