Scott,
If you take care of your car, you shouldn't have any problem at all. The last four times that I have taken any of my cars in for smog checks, the measured values (pollutants) were no more than 10% of the maximun allowed. Some of the measurements were nearly at zero.
The only thing that I would recommend to you is to make a copy of your results (the one that the smog check gives to you for your records) and include it with your registration renewal. [The DMV tells you that you don't need to do this, but I have had problems with the DMV _NOT_ getting the data the way they should. I had to mail a copy of the test results anyway.]
