Well I'm not really sure what kind of response you were looking for from me. We did have a previous discussion about this. I think we all agreed that we would want to see a new SVT sedan. But I do believe SVT currently has a good line-up with each of our three vehicles competing quite well in their market. It just so happens you svtcarboy and I are not in those markets. But not all is grim as it sounds. I think if you look into what we have done with the SVT Focus you will see that we are constantly improving and most importantly, we are learning.

isn't everything realative? I mean I was able to run with a TT in the rain, I was flat out in my Zetec and the older looking lady I think it was had no problem doing 60 to stay along side, granted I do not think it was the turbo TT, but being able to keep up from a light impressed me and I already love my car

All Audi TTs are turbo. One tailpipe is 180HP and two tailpipes is 225HP IIRC. The lady was certainly not trying... Wet or dry a TT will roast you on take off. You've never seen a hi-po AWD car take off in the rain, have you? Forget it... Zetec, Duratec, SVT, S/C, NOS, they all fall if it's slippery.

You guys are all living in denial..
You like to think you own an SVT to stick it to those BMW/Audi/Lexus owners who spent more money for a comparable car.. However, if you actually drove any of the competition, you'd see that there is no comparison! Keep up with a 330, my a$$. He wasn't racing..
I'd take an Audi A4 1.8T for a 2K premium over the SVT, if for no other reason than the prestige, resale value, aftermarket, and luxury of the interior. Heck, for pure driving enjoyment, I'd even take a WRX! If you haven't driven it, don't knock it.
The SVT Contour was a fluke, but sales were pitiful.. Maybe if it was marketed better, there would have been a better reaction from the public. But there wasn't, and so Ford felt that there was no need to fill this niche, and we're all left in the dust.

If you want an audi buy an audi, I would If you want a bmw buy one I would
BUT!!! I would still keep my beloved 'tour. Hell this car I have had for three years and that is the longest there must be something I like about it. I have been through 20 cars, trucks and suvs since I was 14. The first being a '69 camero ss but like I said this is the longest I have kept a car and liked it.

Why do people ***** and moan about cars they own If you dont like the damn car sell it. I enjoy my car, may not the the fastest or best assembled car, but it sure is fun to drive. Personally I plan on keeping my SVT even after its paid off and then going out and buying my Phoenix Yellow M3. I have had no problems with my SVT to make me feel that it is an inferior car to anything else on the market in its price range. Are there better cars out there, obviously yes, do I own them, no. Why complain about your own car

FWIW, I've personally seen a SVT Contour hand an A$ 1.8t it's @$$. Yes, it was an atx, but, so are 90% of them as well.
You shouldn't have any trouble keeping pace with a 330i, or any 3 series short of an //M provided you drive pretty good. As far as the 330 being "100x better in every way" Yeah and my name is OJ Simpson...To each their own.
Personally, I like to ooh and aah over the german cars. I had the luck to be next to an M5 as he was merging on the highway, and man it sounded so very sweet as he got on it. I honked and gave him a big thumbs up. When it comes down to it though, unless I had the money to spend without thinking twice about it, I probably wouldn't buy one. The only //M I can remotely afford at any time in my life would be the //M3 and I can't justify spending 60+k on a 14 (13.5?) second car. Yeah I know it's ALOT more than just a drag racer but personally I'd rather buy a car and work and tweak it into something that can run circles around just about everything. But that's just me.

Go race a 330 5speed even with your little mods you will still lose and if you do win it wont be by much. Have a nice day OJ, because you are trippin. Like I said before I love my svt too, but some of you guys think it is the holy grail. Oh well I am going to wash a car I can't drive.. -Antonio

Not sure about the 330i but Ive driven both the 325 & 328i, both with MTX. I have no doubt SVT is quicker (and in point of fact I have done in a 328i on the highway). They are excellent cars, more solid, beautifully crafted, but not more FUN. SVT has a high reving nature/more urgent, makes better sounds, and seems lighter on its feet. It's still a treat to drive. Thats all I'm saying...
