Actually this just happen to me 2 day ago I was doing 70mph (cruise control on ) then I accelerated to pass a truck and the trottle body got stucked at WOT. I turn off the CC but the car keep going faster, I applied the brakes but the car wasn't stoping at all, then I try to pull back the accelerator with my foot but nothing happened, so I puted it on neutral aplyied the brakes (MTX) and the rpms where going up to 6500, then turn off the car and pull over. This was done on like 30 seconds. I opened the hood and I started checking the engine bay. I thouched the spring on the trottle body and is snaped right back. I got home and checked averything again but everything was ok.

I think was the long trip that caused the TB to get stuck 5hrs driving.

I researched the problem and the only car that has this problem was the Mecury Grand Marquis. TB getting stuck while using Cruise contol, (CC) but I do not hate my car actually, I love the damm thing more every day.
