Hey Troy I bought my 98 SVT to show that I dont need to buy a German car (BMW,AUDI) to have a a high performance sports sedan. I do enjoy my svt, but its not even close to a BMW.Price is no excuse because the svt costs the same as a A4.The CSVT is made with parts that are cheap, but we all know that already. my point is when are you guys going to finally built a freakin sports sedan that can compete with a damm s4,330,g35? I know you guys have the damm brain power, Im tired of the damm cobras, built a real car and show the germans what SVT is all about. I love my SVT even though it acts like a contour

Tell ya what....Give me your SVT, go buy an A4, and shut the hell up about it. You bought the car. It was your choice. Live with it.

Who exactly are you talking to? You seem to have the mental capacity of my big toe, so I'll let this one slide. Otherwise I'd point out how wrong you are and how if you want a car as fast as a S4 maybe you should start by spending $40,000 for a car witha bi-turbo, k? Also, if I wasn't such a nice person, I'd point out the fact you're sort of an idiot again cuz the SVT will hang with and/or beat the BMW 330. Then I could go on to point out that the G35 has a whole litre more displacment than the SVT, but I guess you'd expect that too for a $30,000 car, huh?

The A4, even the 1.8T had a several grand price premium over the SVT Contour. To even be competitive, you need to fork over more for the 2.8, or start modding in ways that will void the warranty.
Personally, I say the SVT Contour is better than a BMW. I drove the 330i, and was relieved to drive away in Ross.
I do agree though that Ford should bring out a replacement sports sedan to appeal to those with aging Contours (SVT and otherwise) that would like a new version, as well as the ZX2, Civic Si, Tiburon... owners that would like to move up a class next time around.
You can pillage an enemy once, but a customer is an endless resource.

True dat Antonio..
Man you guys are funny... Over-enthusiastic and all.. like saying you wouldn't take a Focus over a 1981 Hyundai. Sure I love my car... But show me a 330i or the new A4 for the same dollar and SVT goes bye bye... It's all money.. Contour SVT is the best compromise for what I can afford now. Far from being a contender in the Audi/BMW ring though!
