Thanks Rob. I did horrible for milage last night coming home to London in the heavy head wind doing 120-130kmh. Needed rev up the engine. For that last tank I did nothing above 3000rpm. As a matter of fact I did most of my shifts at 2500rpm. The amazing thing is I filled up when I left London on Sunday night. Did my 100km round trip to work 4 and a half days and could of still gotten another 60+ kms on the tank to bone dry. I will have to see what happens come summer. I may be able to get another 100 kms on a tank then.

That would be impressive. You have inspired me to try this with our 1.8L Sentra. It only has a 50L tank and we regularly get 500km on 40L (29mpg) but should be able to get more. Problem is that my wife has a heavy foot and couldn't care less about gas milage.

What is really scary is how I'm being easy on the gas on the Taurus (yes, I got another one...argh). I filled up today. Did the math. I'm doing a bit better in mileage than with the Zetec

WTF??? Are you driving downhill in neutral all the time? That is amazing.

Actually 80 or so clicks of this was behind a semi about 30 feet back doing 110kmh. It was 3:00a.m. so no one was on the roads. Just kept my foot in close proximity of the brake pedal and always had a way to get out of the way if there was an emergency. Never had to touch the brakes once. So I'm going to have to guess that this helped.
