On my tour the water pump was leaking like a faucet on full blast.........but I discovered the miracle cure......... BARR'S STOP LEAK......believe it or not two 5oz bottles for 1.75 each fixed this problem.....saved me a bundle too........what a happy day....

The rest of the cooling system wont be happy for long..!!!!.Those products are a 'temp' fix, if the w/pump seal is leaking that's it, 'goop' is only a short term fix.Fit a new pump and get that crap flushed out of the system !!!!

Or, to put it another way...
You have pluged the hole that was deliberately put there to let you know when your water pump is no longer sufficiently circulating coolant through your engine. You must get a new water pump installed and try to get that junk out of your system.

i took the car to ford and had them run a check on my cooling system. They said i must have had a new pump put on. The pressure check came back great... Ask the service manager what ford puts in the radiators before they ship them from the plant...you will be suprised...

I wouldn't trust the service manager's knowledge of what goes on in a plant. Then again, I don't exactly trust most of our plants either... :rolleyes: I watched as one plant welded a new roof on a $40k+ car after the windshield install machine ate the original one.  I expect that they sold it as new--the *******s.

So they pressure checked your system and it held pressure. All that means is the "sealant" worked for the time being. Has Zero to do with the water pumps ability to move water. (do it's job)
Very temp fix, with every worse negative results possible because of it!

Bar's leaks is a good product. But it's not made for permanent use. It would have been a lot cheaper and a effective to use a couple of raw scrambled eggs. When the water temp goes up, it poaches the eggs and they get stuck in whatever leak there was.
I know it's a buzzkill. But, get the system flushed and put a new pump in. It will save you tons of money down the road when the engine siezes due to a bad pump.

You did say 'THE PUMP WAS LEAKING' so the bars leaks is a 'bodge up' job...yes I know what they put in at the plant ,I saw the first Contour roll of the line & its not put in for a f****d up water pump!!!

I gotta get in the "get that out of your system" line. Its not the end of the world. The pump is gonna finally give out and it will be at the worst time and the worst place. On a side note I work in a factory where machines are built and i have seen many a machine get messed up on the assembley line (catch on fire, windows get shattered, doors pulled off etc. they get fixed and shipped as new so you never know...
