Alot has been going around about the new Yoko AVS ES100. I am seriously considering it because from what everyone says, it is a great tire for a great price. Most say it performances at the KDW's level but is much more quiet. The issue is that they are not avilable in 215/50/16. I would have to go with the 225/50/16. I am waiting for some fellow CEGer's on the Wheels/Tires forum to let me know if they will fit the stock E1 rims and if there is any rubbing issue with them before I buy them.

Comments and suggestions are always welcome. Thanks for the help guys

We have SO-3s on our Contour. They are pretty kick ass tire...but a little pricy compared to the SZ-50s.

One thing about them...if you drive on the road that has been shaved for new pavement, your going to stear with the groves...

The 215/50/16 size has almost no choices. 225/50/16 should fit a 99 fine, if its lowered, you might rub but I doubt it. If you want to stay on the safe side, 205/55/16 is the stock size for the 98 model year (for both E0 and E1 98's).

I've got 225/50/16 with the BAT suspension and E1 rims, no rubbing problems that I've ever detected.

It depends on the 225. Some are thin for 225 and others are wide for 225. Luke at Tire rack can steer you in the right direction.

Andy W. The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?
