Interesting...
Don't forget that it is normal for your brake fluid level to go down slightly as your pads and rotors wear and the calipers have to travel further (thus, you aren't really loosing fluid--it is just relocating). If you top off your brake fluid and then replace pads/rotors, you'll find that your reservoir will overflow.
Disclaimer: I'm not a brake guy, so I probably didn't describe the system quite right, but I believe that the basis concept is correct.
