Crank whip can cause the crank to pick up a bearing (spin) or damage it. Either would give loss of oil pressure. The 2 go hand in hand!
I have a hard time buying into the fact that ONLY a right hand sweeper at high rpms is what kills the engine. I did that every day of the week for a good year or more (near 360 degree cloverleaf at 60-90mph flat out both to and from work!) before anyone started saying it was bad and never had a failure or even bad oil analysis readings.
Now I try and watch the right handers a bit more, but still go all out on the lefties when I can.
