Those are the actual sizes. I believe that the surface area is about the same but the swept area of the newer pads is greater making them more efficient in theory. The bigger problem will be getting pads for the early SVT calipers as many people don't make them.

You are nuts for trying to use the wrong pads. The calipers are competely different and aren't designe to use the other ones pads.
