Forgot about the fill. There is no fill plug, you fill it from the dipstick hole.

go to wally world and get a 5 in 1 funnel. you can stick the end of the long funnel into the dipstick hole and then pour into the top. you can keep it in there during the whole process (car will run with it in just fine). it's keeps everything nice and clean.

it may be ok, straight mercon V could definitely be bad. just use mobil1 atf.

so - call me crazy, but if i buy all the "liquid" and take it to a shop that can suck out all the fluid and replace it for me - how much should i expect to pay? I think "iffy lube" wanted $69 for a drain/refil... but that was with their own stuff... i'd be buying synthetic + FM...

dont even bother with jiffy lube. go to an independent shop that'll put in what u bring. i saw jsmith do my car. appeared relatively easy (i guess, i didn't do it). all they have to do is put the car up on a lift, drain it, then fill it. make sure to add the ford friction modifier. i dont remember how much. i think 2 oz and 2.5oz of atf for 2.7oz total. it looked easier than an oil change.

i don't just want the drain/fill - i want the whole "suck out the fluid and replace"... i don't think my shop-vac would do a good job though so i'm looking for options on a place that has a transmission fluid changing machine....

not sure with mtx, but with atx, you can take hose off tranny cooler (in radiator) and put in a bucket, turn the car on and pour in new fluid while old fluids goes into bucket. not sure if you would want to do that though.
