Had problems with her car long before 40K. 2 bad wires and one tower on the coil pack. Tossed all the wires, changed the plugs while in there. I installed Magnacores and Bosch +4s on my car years ago and never had any ignition problems. Your wires are over 5 years old - get rid of them. I changed the plugs on her car because I am concerned with them seizing to the head with age.
