I THINK he was trying to a launch to show off his MR2. But he didn't know how to compensate for it when the rear end spun and kicked out. Notice he never countersteered when he was spinning out? BTW, I got it on my Engineering account too - http://www.eng.buffalo.edu/~kinho/mr2crash.mpg
