I should be traveling down sometime in February to pick up a used SVT exhuast from a fellow CEG'er and need to find a place that will weld it in for me in the Grand Rapids area. I'll also have them install a y-pipe (once I figure out if I'm getting a shoshop or BAT y-pipe). Anyone have any shops they recommend? And even if maybe they would do the mystery mod on my precats while they're in there?

TIA

No shop *should* be removing your pre-cats!
I don't know of any shops in the area, sorry! Try the W. Michigan forum, you might have a better chance there!

Why would you need the exhaust welded? Isn't it in one piece? You might want to read this if it's in one piece. You getting mcgainer's exhaust?

the SVT exhaust is in one peice, but I need to get a hanger made for the passenger muffler, and I prefer the strength of welds to hook it all up. That and if I get the SS y-pipe, i hear that comes in peices that need to be welded together also.

Either way, the SVT exhaust is in one peice and waiting in Grand Rapids. Since I dont' have a truck, it will either have to be chopped up or I have to get it installed while its in Grand Rapids

Oh yeah, it's mcgainers exhaust. I can't wait to hear it!!

I forgot the link. You don't need to weld crap. I already told mcgainer about this. Don't know why he didn't tell you about it. This is what I have done. Gainer could fab one for you in his shop. Pretty damn easy and NO welding. If you installed the hanger before you came down you would just need to undo the 2 bolts and slide the exhaust off.
