Greetings all....I have just become a newbie in the contour.org family. I was pondering this idea for the supercharger problem. Couldn't you just take an intake and a tb from a focus (for an atx, thats what mine is) and swap it out?? Wouldn't that allow us to use the focus supercharger? I read somewhere on this site where it mentioned that the focus tb is closer to the passenger side of the motor? I am thinking that is possible since the zetec motors are all basically the same. Is that the general agreement here?? Any ideas on this....could it work?? I have looked on car-parts.com and found a intake for a 2000 focus for $50 and yes I read it correctly. Lets help the newbie out on this one......

Thats a good question, but I think the engine compartment may need to be modified also to fit the supercharger.

fuel management??? they don't have anything for a contour ECU... and you have a VCT Zetec you are more screwed cause the focsu doesn't have this they have a EGR like the pre 98's. and the placement of the motor in the engine compartment. wanna move the firewall and get a hood that allows for the clearance??? there are more things but I tooo lazy to tyepnright now

You may have to do an engine swap to get that super charger in and if you need to do that, you might as well put in a V8 or something.

It will fit. We have more room behind and above the engine. It is just a question of it working with the VCT. The TB should even be an issue either. On the S/C the TB is "turned" to the side. Just some testing I might just have to do.

this is true..the only way you could properly disable the VCT would be to swap out an earlier engine and trans complete with wiring harness....however..isn't VCT controlled by the ECM and shouldn't it be able to handle the modifications....intake, tb, high-flow mass, cam gears, crank pulley, rebuilt head with street/strip cams (of course cutting the head out for larger valves and stiffer springs), CAI, 19lb /hr injectors, and then the supercharger with a custom superchip....the main purpose of VCT is to aid in controlling emissions..right?? i think with all these mods and a custom chip would do the work and VCT would be an added plus if you stomped on the gas...right?? just ideas i am there...
