i got the Kenwood KDC-MPV7019. it plays mp3's and the LCD fades like 67 different colors. its not an Excelon series, but its a good HU. its retail for $300 but i got it for $230. this mp3/cd player is great. it blows my old sony HU away! and i LOVE the fading colors. its such a great look to it. check out the specs and a pic here
Savinglots.com. heres some pics of it in action. not very good ones(i need a new digi cam), but this shows a few of the mad color shades u can either choose from or have it auto fade by itself.
u cant see what it says on the display cause its too bright for my cam to handle it. and the red buttons u can also change to green.(i think the red looks better)
and it also has a theft protection code(I like it). if the power gets disconnected from the HU as asoon as the power comes back you are prompted for a password. (not sure if this is a common feture or not..) and I recomend checking out that Savinglots.com they have great prices.
