I bought a used 99 csvt a mnoth ago and it wasent cold outside when i went for a test drve. I was satisfied with the car and bought it. Sicne then it has gotten colder and i have noticed a fog horn noise, MR MOOSE. I called the original owner and he told me that it was a problem that he never got fixed and that it was covered under warranty. The car is out of its bumper to bumper warranty and now only covered by the esp. I called ford and she told me it was not covered, and that she never heard of the problem and to get it looked at would cost 35 dollars. SO i figured i would the fix posted here. After doiung a search and reading posts/replies i wasnt sure exactly what i should do so i went witht he easiest most inexpensive fix. I bought the 1/2" pipe cap cut a 3/16 hole in it and installed it in the tubing. Mr moose is gone but when in first gear and i let off the gas the car jerks a little as if it would want to stall but it doesnt. The same problem in second. The car also idles alot lower in the rpm band. Is this what is suppossed to happen? Shold i widen the hole to 7/32. Do i have to reset the computer. I checked the forums but not all the fixes apply to my car and i am not sure if i am doing the right thing.
