My brother in law got laid off from his job as a network administrator at IBM. He had purchased a new home for $220,000 and his payments were $1750 per month. It took him a year to find another job. He must have had some money saved to pay the $1750 per month house payments. He was about to have to sell his home when he found another job.
O2 sensors are easy to change. You will need a O2 sensor socket and a ratchet.
